TOUR OF NORTH-WESTERN PROVINCE (DIVISION)

The Zambia Police Service Commission (ZPSC) undertook a tour of North-Western Province (Division) from 28th July to 11th August, 2024. The purpose was to sensitize police and immigration officers on Human Resource Management Reforms that Government had embarked on as part of the Decentralization Policy. Further, the Commission tour was also aimed at interacting with officers, appreciate the environment in which they operated and to deal with some outstanding staff matters.
The delegation was led by the Chairperson of the Commission Dr. Peter Machungwa, who was accompanied by six (6) Commissioners and six (6) Secretariat staff. Four (04) officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security, one (01) representative of the Inspector General of Police from Service Headquarters, and three (03) officers from Immigration Department .
PLACES VISITED
The Commission visited the North-Western Division Headquarters, Solwezi, Mushindamo, Mwinilunga, Ikelengi, Kalumbila, Kasempa, Mufumbwe, Manyinga, Kabompo, Zambezi and Chavuma Police Stations/Posts.
OBJECTIVES OF THE TOUR
The objectives of the tour were to: –
1) Sensitize officers on the Human Resource Management Reforms (HRMR) in line with the Service Commissions Act No.10 of 2016 and National Decentralization Policy 2023;
2) Receive oral and In-Camera submissions from officers; and
3) Inspect old and new infrastructure such as staff houses and office accommodation.
