The Mission Statement for the Zambia Correctional Service Commission is:
“To provide efficient Human Resource Services for an effective Correctional Service”.
Core Values
The operations of Zambia Correctional Service Commission and conduct of staff for the strategic plan period will be anchored on the following five (5) core values:
Confidentiality
We do not disclose privileged information that comes to us during the course of our duty to unauthorised individuals.

We collaborate group efforts and work together to take advantage of each member’s unique strengths to achieve a common institutional goal.

Management and Operational Structure
The ZCSC has a two-tier operational structure made up of a Commission on one hand which is responsible for discharging its mandate as guided by the Constitution and provides overall policy direction. The Commission is made of seven (7) full-time members appointed by the President. On the other hand, the Secretariat is headed by a Commission Secretary who is responsible for the day-to-day operations. The Commission Secretary is assisted by a Deputy Commission Secretary and, Head Corporate Services.
The day-to-day operations of the Commission are undertaken by the Secretariat. The Secretariat is made up of four units namely Human Resource Unit, Procurement Unit, Records Unit and Administration Unit.
